BRENT CROSS IS TOP OF THE CLASS

The first day at school, or back at school, is filled with pitfalls, but this year help is at hand. Brent Cross Shopping Centre is offering everything a student could possibly want all under one roof, with specialist advice and services at selected stores.

John Lewis is getting into the spirit of Back to School with an art competition, inviting children to create a picture of their best friend, or even their teacher. The best entries will be displayed in John Lewis' furniture department and the three main winners will receive £100 to spend on Back to School items. Entries should be handed in to the children's fashions department in John Lewis Level 2, Brent Cross Shopping Centre from 19 July to 25 August 2004.

WHSmith at Brent Cross is offering parents a very special personal shopping service. All they need do is hand in their list of school stationery, books and other essentials to a member of WHSmith staff, who will get everything needed while the parents take a break at one of Brent Cross' five cafes. Or those who just want to get their shopping done can head for Marks & Spencer, John Lewis or Fenwick for school outfits or even stock up on 'brain-food' from Boots, which is also currently offering 3 for 2 on all vitamins.

Getting shoes fitted is no mean 'feet' during the busy back to school period, but John Lewis makes life easier with its ingenious pager system. Customers add their name to a waiting list, take a pager and continue with their shopping. The pager 'bleeps' around 20 minutes before they can expect service, enabling them to take a leisurely stroll back to the department, avoid the queues and tantrums, making the most of valuable shopping time.

With over 110 stores, coffee bars and restaurants, free parking and easy access by bus, Tube and train, Brent Cross Shopping Centre offers a complete shopping experience under one roof, smoothing the creases of the Back to School experience
