26 June 2006 WORLD CUP MILLION WITHIN REACH One lucky Brent Cross customer is a step closer to getting their hands on £1million now England has made it through to the quarter finals of the World Cup 2006. With just three games now to go, excitement is building, because if England beat Germany in the Final on penalties, Brent Cross will give one lucky shopper £1 million! And that's believed to be the highest-ever payout by a British shopping centre. After a 1- 0 win against Ecuador yesterday, the odds of England meeting tournament hosts Germany have shortened considerably. Norman Black, Head of Marketing at Brent Cross, said: "There's a great atmosphere in the shopping centre; everyone is backing England to win. We're now only three games away from giving one lucky shopper £1 million, so Brent Cross shoppers have a million more reasons to cheer on England. What a double celebration that would be for the winning customer! And of course, it's all absolutely free to enter!" To have a chance of winning £1 million, visitors to Brent Cross simply have to register at the promotional stand located in Mall 5 between LK Bennett and Thorntons. The competition started on 6 June and will run until 9 July (earlier if either England or Germany get knocked out of the tournament).
