Brent Cross is a Hammerson-operated shopping centre. As a business, we aim to create retail destinations that deliver net positive impacts economically, socially and environmentally, through leading-edge design, operational efficiency and a culture of respect and responsibility. By 2030 we will be a Net Positive company for carbon, resource use, water and socio-economic impacts.

Follow the Hammerson journey here, with access to key documents, our latest performance data and updates on our company initiatives.

At Brent Cross we are working with Hammerson to reduce our environmental impact.

Energy consumption In 2019, our electricity consumption was 3,232,843 kWh, which is a 4% reduction from 2018. This reduction is equivalent to supplying energy for 39 houses. Water usage We have saved 17% on our water consumption, which is the equivalent to 1.459 Olympic sized swimming pools.

Recycling We recycled 69% of our waste recycled. There was 2,045 tonnes recycled which is the equivalent weight of 13 blue whales.

Our key projects in 2020 include

  • Reducing electricity consumption with improvements to our  ventilation and lighting systems and the introduction of a renewable energy system.

  • Increasing recycling rates through improved operational controls and addition waste stream collection.

  • Continuing to work with our partners to engage with educational facilities and develop work based skills.
