Sustainability at Brent Cross

We’re proud to be part of a bigger mission — one that puts people and the planet first. Brent Cross is operated by Hammerson, a business committed to creating places that leave a positive impact: socially, environmentally and economically.

The goal? To be Net Positive by 2030 — that means giving back more than we take when it comes to carbon, water, resources and local communities.

You can follow Hammerson’s full journey, see performance stats and read key updates here.

What we’re doing at Brent Cross

We’re already taking steps to reduce our footprint and support the community — and we’re just getting started.

Powering down
We cut electricity use by 11%. That’s enough energy to power 122 homes for a year.

Saving water
We’ve reduced water usage by 36% — the equivalent of saving 2 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

Less waste, more action
We recycled 62% of our waste last year – around 764 tonnes, or the same weight as 4 blue whales.

Where we’re heading

Here are a few of the ways we’re pushing things forward:

  • Upgrading our lighting and ventilation systems to use less power
  • Recycling food waste on site, cutting down on carbon from transport
  • Partnering with local schools and colleges to build real-world work skills
  • Supporting biodiversity projects around the centre

Because making shopping easier shouldn’t cost the earth. And at Brent Cross, we’re making sure it doesn’t.
